We got tired of watching great people fight fires that should never have started.
The idea for Katalux didn't come from a whiteboard in a meeting room. It came from watching — up close — what happens to businesses when their IT environment runs ahead of their ability to manage it. Good engineers burning out. Business owners getting calls at midnight. Finance leaders staring at IT budgets that grow every year but can't be justified in plain language.
The tools existed. Cloud platforms, monitoring software, security products — more of them every year, each generating more data than the last. But the data wasn't being understood. It was just accumulating, firing alerts into a room full of people who were already overwhelmed.
We watched MSPs pay SLA penalties for incidents that were preventable. We watched founders lose clients to outages that a better-informed system would have seen coming. We watched CFOs sign off on IT budgets they couldn't explain to their board, because no one had ever built the framework to connect IT performance to business outcomes.
So we built Katalux. Not another monitoring tool, and not another dashboard. An autonomous intelligence layer — something that sits above your existing environment, understands what's happening across all of it, and acts. So the people running the business can focus on what they're actually here to do.
We're based in Perth, Western Australia. We're early, and we know it. We're choosing our first partner relationships carefully because each one shapes everything that comes next. If you're running a business, an IT team, or an MSP — and you recognise the problems we're describing — we'd genuinely like to hear from you.
“The problem was never a lack of data. It was a lack of intelligence applied to that data at the moment it mattered most.”
